BAM/PFA’s collections include over 15,000 works of art—only a fraction of which are on view in the galleries at any time—and some 10,000 films and videos. Many of the works that are not on display are available for study, offering opportunities to enrich classroom learning with face-to-face viewing of individual works or in-depth research.
To schedule research screenings of films and videotapes in the PFA collection for a low fee, contact the Library & Film Study Center at (510) 642-1437. Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance.
To find relevant works from the collection and schedule class visits to view accessible objects, contact Academic Liaison Lynne Kimura at firstname.lastname@example.org, (510) 643-1002, as early in the semester as possible (at least three weeks’ advance notice is preferred). Please note that certain works may not be available for viewing for various reasons (condition, off-site storage, on loan, etc.)
