A Self-Guided Tour for Young People and Their Families of Selected Works from the Exhibition

An exhibition at the University Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive, UC Berkeley
August 23 - November 19, 1995

In this exhibition, you'll get to meet some young people who lived almost 300 years ago in England. Some of them may even be the same age as you. You'll meet these children through their portraits. If you had lived before the camera was invented and your parents wanted a picture of you, they would have had to hire an artist to paint your picture, or portrait.

Read the guide aloud with your family, and have fun answering the questions. Words in blue bold are new terms you can use to impress your teachers and friends. Click on blue bold words to find out more about that term
