Gallery Talk by Ann Percy and Jacqueline Crist
March 18, 2010; 12:00 NOON
Two of today’s foremost experts on the art and life of James Castle join forces to offer their insights on selected works in the exhibition, and the stories behind them.
Ann Percy, curator of drawings at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, immersed herself in the study of James Castle’s art for several years to prepare the current retrospective and its accompanying catalog. Jacqueline Crist, director of the J Crist Gallery in Boise, Idaho, has long managed a huge visual archive on Castle’s art and life, and acts as an agent for the artist’s estate.
Sign language interpretation will be provided.
